Learning is The Ultimate Superpower

Entropy is real. There are only two modes in life. It’s either you’re actively advancing against the pull of entropy or you’re passively succumbing to its unrelenting forces that aim to nullify all your efforts.

The top shared quality of all elite performers in all disciplines is that they are forever learners. They’re perpetual students who spend their entire lives deeply immersed in the knowledge of their respective fields.

People mistakenly assume that mastery is an end goal that you may reach after investing your 10,000 hours of practice. Truth is, masters are endlessly obsessed with knowing more, doing better, and going deeper into their knowledge without an end in sight. This is because knowledge is infinite, and it can’t be contained within one lifetime or even a trillion lifetimes strung together. Falling in love with the incremental improvements in skill, the excitement of understanding something that was hidden away from your reasoning is a powerful driving force that is a major component of all the geniuses and masters of the world throughout all human history.

If you want to get anywhere in life where you have an abundance of meaning, joy, fulfillment, wisdom, wealth, and recognition, you will have to find something that you’re willing to pursue passionately down its endless rabbit holes.

There’s no way around it, really. Knowledge in its formidable nature consists of infinite layers, and the world handsomely rewards those who bore into it down to the core. This is how massively famous names like Einstein, Tesla, and Edison cross the bounds of time and reach immortality in the collective knowledge of mankind.

Don’t fall prey to the temptation of comfort and shortsightedness of a job that makes ends meet and life easy. Seeking the discomfort of not knowing enough, of throwing yourself into a beginner’s mindset, of pursuing apprenticeships and unpaid internships to acquire experience, knowledge, and skills is the only way to lasting peace of mind.

The most soul crushing feeling in the world is to know you have squandered your potential and wasted your time in life. Don’t be that person, choose to go the long hard road instead.

They keep telling you that it’s never too late to start on your chosen path. It’s true.

It’s probably true that you may never reach the depth of knowledge and sophistication of someone who’s spent decades of their life mastering the same game, but this should not deter you from starting your own journey. The whole point of walking the path is in the sense of purpose and meaning that you will find along the way, and it has absolutely nothing to do with any imaginary end result.

With that said, there’s no telling how fast or how deep you can go into something that takes over your mind and soul in a way that consumes you entirely, for this is the surest way to gain unfathomable momentum and acceleration on your mission.

Those who seek abundance and happiness in life know that there’s no end destination, no stopping, no retirement, and no rest. The only stopping point we all will eventually meet in life is death. And arguably, even that is not the end.
